ABOUT ME
Originally from New Zealand, I discovered computer programming after moving to London in 1998. Front-end development had the joy of instant gratification despite the frustrations of inconsistencies. It is baffling to recall that Netscape Navigator was ever considered an improvement.
Reflecting on the evolution of software development since my early days, there has been significant shifts from Waterfall to Agile methodologies like XP, Scrum and Kanban. The development mentality switch to collaboration and test-driven development (TDD) has also significantly changed the professional developer's life. And the transformative potential of infrastructure as code.
Transitioning from coding to coaching, then management, and now consultancy, I love empowering teams to excel, particularly in accelerating innovation and customer-centric product development. We have to question the value of new features and focus on delivering tangible improvements in people's lives, such as saving money on energy bills through digital solutions or providing homes for people fleeing Ukraine.
They acknowledge the perpetual learning and discovery in their career, finding fulfillment in the ever-evolving landscape of technology and product development.
